...and a Kicking new year! 2010 has been a year of celebration and we'd like to continue the party by offering our subscribers the chance to win a fantastic prize courtesy of Crema Cafe and Kick It To Me.
Crema Cafe at Jetty Road Glenelg is Kick It To Me Trade Service's most recently satisfied, happy customer; so much so that they have offered a $50 voucher to give away to a lucky What's Kicking subscriber.
As we're in the Christmas party spirit, we're going to match Crema's offer and give away another $50 voucher so that two lucky subscribers can experience the deliciousness of the food, wine and service at Crema.
To be in the running for this fabulous prize, share our news by forwarding What's Kicking to your friends. For each forward, you will receive one entry in the competition, so for extra chances of winning, go ahead and forward to as many email addresses as you like.
With outdoor dining under shaded umbrellas, Crema is the perfect place to treat yourself to a meal this summer. Crema is situated at 8-10 Jetty Road Glenelg. While you're there, make sure you check out Kick It To Me Trade Service's handywork behind the counter (wine rack and new cupboard doors).
Competition closes at 5pm Friday 3 December 2010 and the winners will be notifed by email by the following Tuesday. Prizes will be drawn at random and winners will be announced in Issue 11 of What's Kicking.
Top Billing - Santos Tour Down Under
We think this event is worthy of "Top Billing" for this issue.
Block Saturday 22 January 2011 in your calendar & reserve it for the Jayco Stage 5 of the Santos Tour Down Under at Willunga. What a day this will be!
Kick It To Me Events has the occasion mapped out for you, with transport from Adelaide, McLaren Vale wine tastings and an exclusive cocktail function hosted by Andy and Anna Clappis at their wonderful establishment "Our Place".
Our Place is situated at the top of Willunga Hill on the corner of Meadows Road and Range Road and it is therefore perfectly poised to witness the Skoda King of the Mountain. Your hosts Andy and Anna are masters at making their guests feel like they're at home - only better - because they do the cooking and pour your wine!
Throughout the afternoon, in abundance, you will receive 4 hours of gourmet canapes and horsedouvres and local wine from the Willunga region. Inside you will find air-conditioned comfort and a large screen telecasting the action. Outside you'll be treated to stunning scenery and an air of anticipation as the riders approach. Then, at approximately 1:15pm and again at 1:50pm the riders will pass right by - and your biggest concern will be how to cheer them on while you're juggling your wine glass.
Do not miss this. Tickets are strictly limited and the event is already nearing the 50% sold out mark. Visit our website for further information and bookings.
A Private Affair with Simon Bryant
Equally exciting is the news that Kick It To Me Events is working with Simon Bryant to bring you private cooking affairs.
Simon works with 'real, local food' and we describe his style as 'authentic'. We believe that Simon creates brilliance from simplicity.
Those who weren't fortunate to experience Simon's fare during his 10 years at The Hilton Adelaide, or missed his ABC series The Cook and the Chef might gain an understanding of his food philosophy from this quote:
"Food should be as natural as when it came from the dirt, with as little harm and interference in its growing and preparation as possible but, with a maximum of care."
If you like the idea of closely watching and learning from Simon's cooking techniques while sharing a glass (or two) of fine local wine, then this event is for you.
Enquiries can be made via our website.

Your Bed Could Earn $1000 p/w!
Sounds sleazy doesn't it?! Let us explain...
Kick It To Me By the Sea is constantly referring business elsewhere because we do not have enough properties to service the number of enquiries we receive for self-contained fully furnished accommodation.
We have developed a Landlord's Information Pack to help you determine whether your property might be suitable to list as holiday and executive accommoation. The Landlord's Information Pack contains real examples of what our landlords are receiving in rentals and also lists our marketing and booking charges so that you can get a true idea of what your property could be earning.
For example, across the course of a year, we listed a 2 bedroom property at Glenelg that achieved on average a rental income of *$875 per week. This included 3 weeks during which the property was not available for rentals due to being renovated and you could therefore average the rental over 49 weeks rather than 52 (*$928 per week).
Another example we can quote is a 1 bedroom property at Glenelg that has achieved over the course of one year, average rental income of *$773 per week. This includes a 3 month spell of soft marketing (as instructed by the Landlord), which means a much higher rental return would have been acheived had marketing taken its usual course.
We are approaching peak period for holiday rentals so don't think about it, do it! Give your investment property a lick of paint, buy some new linen, replace the kettle and toaster if you have to, and promptly list with us.
If you need assistance in bringing your property up to scratch our property maintenance division Kick It To Me Trade Services can spruce where required at very reasonable rates.
Contact Sue on 0438 204 074 for a confidential discussion.
*Quoted examples exclude KITM commission and cleaning costs.

Kick It To Me Cleaning Services
We recently conducted market research to establish whether there may be interest in a new KITM division of Kick It To Me Cleaning Services.
The call was put out and plenty of responses were received from persons wanting their houses cleaned, but unfortunately there weren't so many responses received from quality cleaners.
For those of you who responded to our call, we say "thank you" and you never know what the future may hold so "watch this space".
For those of you who may know of quality cleaners looking for work, please encourage them to make contact with us by telephoning Sue McKay on:
